Polka dot (c. 1954-7)

This range of teaware with large, white spots (see trio, below) is seen with maroon, green, turquoise, yellow, pink or black background colours. I have seen backstamps dates ranging from 1954-7. The design is similar to the polka dot range produced by Hornsea in 1957 (not shown), that had large white spots on a pale blue ground. The Empire Ware range with small white spots on black (see jug, below) is similar to Piazza Ware.

Maroon trio (1954)
This striking trio has overall scattered crazing lines, but otherwise has no damage and appears unused. It has large, pale spots on a purple ground. It is backstamped '10-54'. It is infrequent. Value: £5-10 (if mint).
Flat-sided jug (1956)
Dated 1-56. This strange jug is in pristine condition with no damage or crazing. If anyone knows why this strange shape was produced, please let me know. Infrequent. Value: £10-25
