Courtier Virtually unknown to retro collectors, this factory produced some very nice retro patterned Hors-d'uvre dishes. The pieces are very scarce, and their style suggests a date around the mid 1950s. If you know any more about this factory, please email me.

Harlem
Cup and saucer The painted details are red in this case, but are also seen in black, green and blue. It dates from the late 1950s. Casey (2001) considers this pattern to be influenced by Midwinter's Zambesi, and states that it was not designed by Kathie Winkle. The scarce Pekin pattern in this range had black crossed-lines imitating Chinese characters. Value: £10 |

Kon-Tiki cake stand Presumably named after the Kon-Tiki expedtion of 1947 by Thor Hyerdahl, who sailed in a balsawood raft from Peru to the Tuamotu Islands in the South Pacific. The stand is in mint unused condition and can be unscrewed and dismounted. Gift from Sue. |
