Designs by Geoffrey Baxter (b. 1922 d. 1995) for Whitefriars Baxter joined Whitefriars n 1954. Sadly, his wonderful designs are mostly beyond my price range. It may just still be possible to find the smaller vases at reasonable prices. Condition is very important: watch out for scratches and bubbles, especially burst bubbles. See the Museum of London section on Whitefriars Glass. Value: Some of the more collectable styles and colours can fetch over £1000; middle-range Baxter pieces fetch £150-400. Less-collected pieces may fetch £50 or less. Check eBay for current prices.

Pontilled purple and white cased glass vase with ball stopper; the plug of the stopper has white glass at the tip. I have no idea who the manufacturer is; it looks too small, and the neck too short, to be a Holmegaard Gul vase, but please email me if you know any more. It may be Dutch. Value: £10-15 | |

Jetique by Bagley These pieces were unmarked, and were in production from the 30s to the 50s. They are a good example of how pre-war polka dots were easily adopted by modernism. Vases, bowls and jugs were produced in black glass with applied polka dots. They are common.
