Cornishware
Blue-banded kitchen ware was produced by many factories. T. G. Green's Cornishware was the most famous, and also came in yellow. The shield backstamps below were used from the late 1920s to the late 1960s. Sadler produced thinly-banded Kleen kitchen ware (mainly storage jars) in a variety of colours. Kleen is now collectable in its own right, but is less well made than T.G. Green and is very prone to paint wear and crazing. Spelling note: T.G. Green write 'Cornishware' as one word, or 'Cornish Kitchen Ware', on their backstamps. There is an excellent Cornish Ware site at Cornishware.Biz with information and pieces to sell; they are absolutely scrupulous about describing condition issues. They also give the following rarity guide (thanks to Pete for allowing me to copy this): Common: Bi.Carb.Soda, Coffee, Cream of Tartar, Currants, Flour, Pepper, Raisins, Rice, Salt, Spice, Sugar, Sultanas, Tea Harder to find: Carbonate of Soda, Cloves, Ginger, Mint, Mustard, Nutmeg, Sage, Sago, Tapioca, Thyme Rare: All-Spice, Almonds, Bread Crumbs, Brown Sugar, Cherries, Cocoa, Cocoanut, Cornflour, Custard Powder, Icing Sugar, Mace, Parsley, Peel, Prunes, Soda, Suet Very Rare: Apricots, Borax, Cinnamon, Curry, Dripping, Herbs, Lard, Marjoram, Pimento Seeds, Table Salt, Washing Soda
